There are large pockets of Tryon's in Prince Edward Island, British Colombia, and Ontario. Is there a known relationship between Teron and Tryon?

The spelling of our family name is not original and may have been Turon or Teron. Our family came from Europe - somewhere between Poland and Germany or Prussia.

Have you seen Teron spelled Terrones with an accent on the last letter "e" ? This is a Spanish spelling. My great-grandmother was Estefana Terrones (dob unknown) and she had a daughter, Jorga Maria Terrones, dob 04/22/1893, Mexico City. I was just curious if you or anyone else has seen Terrones variation.

I am from France Esperaza. I am living now in Guadeloupe, French West Indies. I was so proud and happy to visit your web site about my...our family. Our name in the french branch was a long time ago "Theron"; in the war I believe that we lost the "h" letter. Anyway, we're happy to know that there are some Terons who care about Terons.

I always thought the Terron name was originally Spanish in origin. My Dad has researched our name and it has it's origins in Spain. I will send you a copy of our family history. You've got a really nice site and I'd be happy to contribute anything I can. Have you heard of Armando Terron, the tenor?

My maiden name is spelled Tirohn. Some of the "elder folks" spelled their name Tyrohn and pronounced it Tee-rone. The ancestors that I know came from Prussia in 1882. They settled in Cleveland, Ohio. Pauline Tirohn (about 30 years old at the time) came with 4 children who were all Tirohns, but I am not sure that they were all her kids. One of them was my grandfather Paul Peter Tirohn. Pauline's husband, Frederick, got here in some mysterious way. On another chart they seem to have had 8 children in all. Does this information fit in with any of your information? Your site is wonderful -- good job!

I thought I was hopeless, who would have knew that there was a website dedicated to the Teron last name. I don't know much about where the last name originated but I am very interested in figuring out where it came from. I'm not sure if the info I'm about to tell you is true but I heard it originated from a name in the bible (terah) in the book of genesis. My parents are from Puerto Rico but I know the name didn't originate there if you happen to know more on where the name originated I would love to hear your insights.

My name is Liviu Tiron. I live in Finland but I'm originally from Romania. The family name Tiron is not very common in Romania, but I think there are some hundreds of people who have it. In the orthodox religion there is one saint: Theodor Tiron. I believe that our name descended from it, and the area Basarabia, Moldova, Romania are orthodox. Anyway it was a big surprise to find your web page. We keep in touch, and I will try to find more about the origin of the name in Romania.
